Utah Students Race to Learn About a Career in Construction

May 18, 2012

More the 3,500 students from 14 school districts and two charter schools attended Utah Career Days held at the Sale Lake Equestrian Park in April. The junior high and high school students, who came from as far away as Duchesne, Sanpete and Emery counties, attended the event to learn about careers in energy, manufacturing, mining, construction, automotive and engineering.

Staker Parson Companies participated in the event with truck drivers, project superintendents and other employees to answer questions and teach the students about their careers. The company also set up a Komatsu Haul Truck racing game allowing the students to race each other four at a time to determine who is the quickest haul truck driver.

Thank you to the students who attended and the employees who participated:

Bill Rowell, Ready Mix Driver
Chris Brandt, Truck Driver
Dennis Sagers, Superintendent
Dan Arnoldson, Safety Specialist
Tim Tullis, Construction
