Staker Parson and Live On Utah Partner for Suicide Prevention Awareness
September 26, 2022
On Thursday, September 22, Staker Parson unveiled 26 new concrete trucks wrapped with encouraging messages for National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
The truck wraps were born out of a partnership with Live On Utah, an initiative focused on sharing resources about suicide prevention, and the trucks also carry the Live On logo and the national suicide prevention hotline number.
Scott Parson, West Division president, spoke about the importance of supporting employee mental health by highlighting the company-wide Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and other resources.
Joel Glenn, a utility superintendent with Reynolds Excavation, Demolition & Utilities, also shared his experience losing his daughter to suicide in February 2021. After using the resources Staker Parson provided, Joel & his family now work hard to increase suicide prevention knowledge.
Live On Utah has developed a first-of-its-kind Instagram- based suicide prevention course called the “Live On Playbook.” Working with mental health experts at the state and national levels, Live On Utah hopes to give everyone the skills to prevent suicide. The new course is completely free to access, and each lesson takes just a few minutes to study. To sign up, follow @liveonutah on Instagram. You do not need to be from Utah to participate.
