- 3,000 tons of road base
- 15,000 tons of ½” SMA

This project started at MP 357 to MP 363 and included a ½ mile of road reconstruction and widening for safety improvement, lane leveling, and six miles of 2” milling and overlaid with 2” of ½” SMA. Burdick Materials completed this project on time and on budget with zero injuries and material in rejection and improved the ride by over 50%.

Working within a 9-hour nightly mill and overlay shift, our traffic control, trucking, asphalt plant, and construction crews were successfully able to rotomill 4" of existing asphalt and pave back 2.5" of hot mix asphalt (HMA). Upon completing the HMA phase of 28,134 tons, we paved back 18,553 tons of Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) on 17 lane miles, with only two bumps to grind.
