Staker Parson Gives Back to Teens in Need

December 18, 2024

Staker Parson Materials & Construction (Staker Parson) donated over 100 hoodies to the new Fremont High School Teen Center.

The donation bins and shelves at the Teen Center were filled to the brim with hoodies ready for students to pick up at the start of the cold winter season. The Fremont High Teen Center is part of a broader Weber School Foundation’s project to offer extra support to students grades 10-12 who face challenges outside of the classroom at all the different high schools in the area. The teen center provides resources that address physical needs such as food, hygiene products, clothing and showers, as well as access to emotional & mental health support services.

The Weber School Foundation estimates that approximately 1,600 families in Weber County and 900 students within Weber School District experience housing and food insecurity.

Staker Parson was excited to donate the hoodies after learning from Vice Principal Hal Raymond that the center would soon be opening and that it needed donations of clothing, food, and hygiene items.

The Teen Center was launched with a full celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony on December 10, 2024. Students, faculty & board members, and local residents, excitedly listened to the school choir sing the school song, were encouraged to actively make the center a place of community and toured the homelike inviting facility.

Principal Alicia Mitchell conveyed the school’s appreciation for the donation, saying “Thank you so much for your partnership and for helping us bring comfort, warmth, and peace to the teens in our community. Your support will be felt throughout Fremont High School and beyond.”

The center is managed by dedicated members of the community who donate their time to taking care of the diverse student population. By opening the Teen Center, Fremont High School continues their dedication to preparing their students for both college and career pathways by giving students in need the resources required to focus on their academic pursuits.

Staker is proud to give back to the communities we serve and our company strives to embody the vision of connecting and improving our world while making people our priority.
