Staker Parson Sponsors Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum Exhibit

November 2, 2023

Staker Parson sponsored and celebrated the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum’s grand unveiling of its reimagined popular “Construction Zone” exhibit on Oct. 28, 2023. This revamped section of the museum represents a major upgrade on its previous construction zone and was made possible through a generous donation from Staker Parson.

The new exhibit will also help children learn more about how rocks and roads connect and build our world and the large amount of construction materials that Staker Parson recycles each year. Employees, families, and kids were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the kids also got the chance to explore the new exhibit and equipment.

Kathleen Bodelos, Executive Director of the Discovery Children’s Museum, was present at the unveiling and praised Staker Parson’s commitment and support for the cause,

“Staker Parson made a significant donation and also brought a lot of innovative ideas which helped us completely revamp and upgrade this construction section of the museum.”

Regarding the importance and future goals of the exhibit, Bodelos added,

“This adds so much to our children’s museum because it takes kids on a journey with us to learn about something that they probably might not have thought of yet. And we love to do that here. We love to inspire children by exposing them to science but in a really fun way!”

Scott Parson, President of CRH Americas Materials West Division, was also in attendance at the event and, in his speech, praised the efforts of everyone involved in the project.

“We are excited to help sponsor this exhibit, and most of all, I hope it is a fun, hands-on activity for the kids and everyone who visits this amazing museum. Thank you to the staff and the museum, and hats off to the creativity that was really brought to life in the execution of this project.”

Thank you to everyone who participated. We are proud to have been involved in such a crucial and profound community project.
