Staker Parson Materials & Construction, A CRH Company, Sponsors UAPA Lunch & Learn Event

December 5, 2018

Staker Parson Materials & Construction served lunch and presented at the Utah Asphalt Paving Association’s (UAPA) Regional Lunch & Learn event, at the Clearfield City Offices Building.

“Staker Parson took the initiative, on their own, to ask their customers what it is that they needed to learn about,” said Reed Ryan, UAPA Executive Director. “I was very pleased to see that information come back, because it did actually come back, and that is was driven by a member company of the association, not the association itself. The results came back and told us asphalt binders and the construction of pavements themselves were the topics of most need.”

Craig Fabrizio, the Liquid Asphalt Procurement Manager at Staker Parson Materials & Construction, presented to the group of UDOT employees, vendors, as well as fellow business owners in the region. “It’s so great to see so many familiar faces, as well as new ones, so engaged in, not only learning but helping others by sharing their expertise,” added Craig Fabrizio. “The hope is to inform and update everyone about the current developments in Asphalt. Where we’ve been and where it will go.” “Since I started at UAPA, as Executive Director, Craig took me under his wing and has become a good friend and mentor. He continues to teach me,” Reed Ryan stated while opening the meeting.

“We’re primarily focused on trying to up the level of education in the state. That’s why the association provides these Lunch & Learn events. We typically do these events at our home base, in South Jordan. Strategically, our association has determined that we need to be THE Utah Asphalt Paving Association, meaning a statewide organization. This was the first trial run, in branching out regionally, moving into the northern parts of the state. In 2019, we hope to move into more of the northern, central and southern parts of the state. We want to provide these free seminars for people to get a good education, so they can understand what it means to build a good quality asphalt road”, Reed Ryan Stated. “Staker Parson Materials & Construction is one of the charter members of the organization, so they’ve been a long time, a really good supporter of what we do. It was just natural, for Staker Parson, laying a lot of the groundwork, to have one of their own come and present for us.”
