US-6; MP 123 To Utah County Line
Staker Parson Materials & Construction completed a 40-mile-long preservation project on US-6 earlier this year. Improvements included 20 miles of highway rotomilling, placing HMA overlay and chip seal, and providing new pavement markings.

Taylor Mountain Road
Burdick Materials recently completed the Taylor Mountain project, located in northeastern Utah, approximately 6 miles north of Vernal. This 7-mile rural corridor is heavily traveled and provides connectivity and access to local businesses, private residents, and the Ashley National Forest. Due to its condition, updates and improvements were required to extend the life of the roadway.

Vineyard 6MG Water Tank
On September 21, 20222, Jack B. Parson performed night work, pouring 870 cubic yards of concrete and establishing the floor of the new Vineyard City 6MG Water Tank project. Crews were able to average 120 cubic yards per hour with two pumps.

Bitter Springs to Fredonia Highway (US 89A)
Western Rock Products is working on the Bitter Springs to Fredonia Highway (US 89A) Project located in Coconino County in North-Central Arizona. Valued at $8.1M, this 15-mile highway rehabilitation project will provide safer mobility for those traveling through the area by incorporating an intermittent climbing lane and updating the roadway surface.

SH-44, INT SH-16 to Linder Road
Idaho Materials & Construction completed the SH-44, INT SH-16 to Linder Road project in Treasure Valley, Idaho. Improvements to the 2.3-mile section of the highway were needed as this area is heavily traveled, seeing up to 23,000 cars daily, according to the Idaho Transportation Department. The existing roadway could only accommodate one travel lane in each direction, causing heavy congestion. This project minimized congestion by incorporating two travel lanes in each direction, providing better mobility for those traveling through the area.

West Davis Corridor
The West Davis Corridor will be a new 16-mile, 4-lane divided highway in western Davis County between the I-15 and Legacy Parkway junction at Glovers Lane in Farmington and provide additional transportation options, reduce traffic impacts, and provide connectivity throughout the region. This highway will include freeway-style interchanges, over 10 miles of new trails and connections, and a future extension of S.R. 193 in West Point. Construction is anticipated through the fall of 2024.

Utah State Correctional Facility
Earlier this year, Reynolds Excavation, Demolition, and Utilities completed work on the new Utah State Correctional Facility. Located in a remote wetland area west of Salt Lake City, this new 1.25 million square foot facility is the largest detention complex in Utah, sitting on nearly 200 acres of land. It is designed to house up to 3,600 inmates of all four classifications ranging from maximum security to the general population, with separate facilities for men and women.

Ferron Elementary School
Nielson Construction & Materials crews have been working hard constructing the new elementary school in Ferron Utah. The Ferron Elementary School building consists of 10 standard classrooms, 2 kindergarten classrooms, 1 preschool classroom, a gymnasium, a media center, and a kitchen with a lunchroom. The exterior will include landscaping, grass playfields, and three separate fenced playground areas.

SR-24; Sand Ledges to Koosharem Turnoff
Hales Sand & Gravel recently completed the SR-24; Sand Ledge to Koosharem Turnoff Project in Central Utah. This 11-mile project, located in the beautiful Koosharem Valley and adjacent to Koosharem Reservoir, required updating the shoulders and widening the roadway to improve and provide safer mobility for travelers.

SR 14; SR 148 to Mammoth Creek Rd & MP 36.8 to US-89
Western Rock Products is currently working on the S.R. 14; S.R. 148 to Mammoth Creek Road & MP 36.8 to U.S. 89 project. Located in both Iron and Kane counties, this project began in early June and will improve the overall smoothness and longevity of the roadway. Improvements include removing and replacing the existing asphalt and incorporating new guard rails, culverts, signs, delineators, and striping.

US-91; North Smithfield to Idaho
The project is located on US-91 in the north end of Cache Valley, from Smithfield, Utah, to the Idaho border, approximately 10.64 miles. Crews are performing lane leveling and providing a paved turnout for snowplows to safety turnaround at the Idaho border.
